Asset Building Training Workshop 2018
"Strengthen Communities, Educate Youth and Prevent Crime"
Date: Friday January 5, 2018

Everyone's an Asset Builder
introduces the Developmental Assets framework and the powerful role of individual asset builders in the lives of youth.
This workshop will help participants
- identify the characteristics of effective asset builders and their own personal strengths and challenges
- understand “circles of influence” and identify those circles in which there is potential for asset building
- make and share a personal commitment to asset-building action
Duration: 4 hours

Sharing the Asset Message
prepares community members and groups to deliver a variety of asset-building messages to multiple audiences.
This workshop will help participants
- discuss how the assets relate to other positive youth development efforts
- develop engaging presentation strategies to meet the unique needs of any audience
- effectively use relevant presentation materials
Duration: 4 hours

Who should attend
Community coalition leaders, Concerned community members, Community organizers, Youth- and family-serving organization staff, particularly those involved in training staff, Parents, Educators, Mentors, Neighbors, Youth workers

During the workshop, participants will
- Understand the strengths and supports that are essential for young people’s success in school, work, and life, based on Search Institute’s research on Developmental Assets
- Identify qualities of individuals who play powerful roles in young people’s lives
- Discover opportunities in their everyday lives for making a positive difference
- Make personal commitments to take action to support youth success

Celebrate Our Youth Day 2018

1. SPACE ASSIGNMENT AND INSTALLATION Booth assignments to exhibitors shall be made by CIYDC .
Exhibits booths must be completely installed between 6-8am. on Saturday, January 6 2018. 
Exhibits must be completely removed by 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6 2018. 
2. CLEAN-UP RULES: All exhibitors are responsible for cleaning the area in and around their booth during and at the close of the showcase.
3. ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL AND OTHER SERVICES AND USAGE The exhibit area does not have electrical outlets. All vendors needing electricity must provide their own extension cord and surge protector.
4. CARE OF THE BUILDING Exhibitors shall be held responsible for any damage caused by them, directly or indirectly, to the Ritz Carlton. No material of any kind may be attached by any means to walls, columns, floors or any part of the building or its furnishings. 
5. STANDARDS FOR EXHIBITS Each exhibit shall be installed in such fashion as to not obstruct the view of, or otherwise interfere with, the exhibits of other exhibitors.
6. STORAGE There are no storage facilities for materials and equipment at the center. Such materials may be left in vendors’ and exhibitors’ booths, but shall be removed from the premises at the close of the Showcase on Saturday, January 6 2018. 
7. SUBLETTING SPACE No Booth Participant shall assign, sublet or apportion any part of the space assigned to the exhibitors.

Celebrate Our Youth Day 2018
"Strengthen Communities, Educate Youth and Prevent Crime"

Held as a general outreach event, Celebrate Our Youth Day is planned as one of the main events of Support Our Youth Month, bringing together young people and their supporters together to promote the assets that help them succeed.

Young people showcase their talents, organizations and schools promote their programs and services  and the general public is engaged in activities that build their awareness of the developmental assets.
